The 2026 "Voice·Responsibility" Symposium for Deputies and Committee Members from the Medical and Health Sector was held.

        On the occasion of the convening of the National Two Sessions, the 2026 "Voice·Responsibility" Symposium for Medical and Health Representatives and Politicians (hereinafter referred to as the "Symposium") jointly organized by 25 associations (unions) in the medical and health sector of China, and hosted by E-Prescription Manager and China County Health, was held in an "online + offline" format on March 3rd. More than 30 national and provincial representatives of the medical and health sector participated in this symposium. Leaders from the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Health Commission, the National Medical Insurance Bureau, the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the National Drug Administration, as well as industry experts, were invited to attend the symposium.

        2026 will mark the beginning of the "15th Five-Year Plan". The national strategic deployment for the "Healthy China" initiative has entered a new historical stage. The Fifth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China clearly stated that "we should lead the construction of the modern pharmaceutical industry system with scientific and technological innovation, deepen collaborative innovation throughout the entire industrial chain and supply chain, and promote transformation towards high-end, intelligent, and green development". At the same time, we will continue to deepen the "three medical" linkage reform, strengthen the resilience of the public health system, promote the balanced regional distribution of high-quality medical resources, and vigorously support the inheritance, innovation, and internationalization development of traditional Chinese medicine. These top-level designs have pointed out the direction for the pharmaceutical industry and set higher requirements.
        This year's symposium focused on the theme of "Promoting healthy consumption and strengthening people's health security". Some representatives and committee members from the pharmaceutical and health sectors across the country and at the provincial level discussed topics such as "Driving the upgrading of the pharmaceutical industry system through scientific and technological innovation and new productive forces, and activating high-quality development of the industry" and "Strengthening the grassroots level, building the system, and maintaining the bottom line, comprehensively building a national health security network". They put forward many targeted opinions and suggestions.
        To ensure that this symposium is productive, 25 associations and academies in the Chinese pharmaceutical industry actively prepared and cooperated closely. Starting from the second half of 2025, they collected the main problems currently existing in the pharmaceutical industry through grassroots research, online symposiums, and questionnaire surveys, and sorted out the situations reflected by grassroots enterprises into over a hundred pieces of suggestion materials.
Expressing opinions, witnessing, and promoting. Since the first symposium was held in March 2009, it has been successfully held for 18 consecutive sessions. Every year, it has received the enthusiastic response and candid discussions from national representatives of the pharmaceutical and health sectors and national committee members. "Voice • Responsibility" symposiums have played an important bridging role in strengthening the positive interaction between the government and the pharmaceutical industry.
